I am an avid Kundalini Yoga Practitioner and have met some amazing, loving people through doing this practice. For those unfamiliar, the purpose of Kundalini Yoga is to raise your kundalini energy up through the spine to awaken higher consciousness. What sets Kundalini Yoga apart from other Yoga practices (i.e., Hatha, Vinyasa, etc.) is the use of chanting and singing, which uplifts the spirit and opens up your intuitive channels. Yogi Bhajan is credited to having brought Kundalini Yoga to the West and is a fascinating person. My yoga instructor was fortunate enough to meet and practice under him and it’s wonderful to hear her stories about him. Below is a peace mediation I enjoy and wanted to share from the 3HO organization, which is Yogi Bhajan’s non-profit.
A person’s true power lies in the power of his word. This meditation is designed specifically to create the vibration of peace in the world.
Posture: Sit in a comfortable position with the spine erect, eyes closed.
Mantra: Chant Healthy am I, Happy am I, Holy am I in a monotone and then make the statement, “God bless this Earth with peace.”
Time: Continue for 11 to 31 minutes.
