Young Living Essential Oils

Some may wonder how do I use Essential Oils or what other uses do they have besides aromatherapy. This page will go a little more in depth to the many versatile uses of Young Living (YL) oils. As Young Living’s website states, every time you hold one of their essential oil bottles, you are holding the “pure essence of health-promoting botanicals that can be diffused, inhaled, applied topically, incorporated into massage, or taken internally…” Below is a detailed example of list of how to use YL oils and which oils are best for that particular task.

We all have heard that scents can be tied to memories (good or bad), but did you know that scents can also increase your brain power, enhance your mood, energize you, etc. Rather than grabbing another cup of coffee for a mid-day pick me up, why not inhale some pleasant and unique scents? Love the way the spritz of fragrance from a fresh orange peel can brighten your day? Each YL oils scent activates the limbic system, which is a complex set of brain structures (e.g., olfactory bulbs, hippocampus, amygdala, etc.) that controls such functions as behavior, emotions, memory, etc. Essential oils can be your key to a more fulfilling and balanced emotional life. You can use the following in an oil diffuser, topical application (always read the label for dilution), massage (with a carrier oil or your choice, but YL’s carrier oil is preferred), inhalation, or even to draw a nice bath and let the oils soothe your whole body:

    • Joy
    • Orange
    • Lavender
    • Peace and Calming
    • Peppermint
    • Grapefruit

Physical Wellness

We don’t always treat our bodies kindly resulting from bad diets, lack of exercise, and exposure to environmental toxins. To assist in detoxing and weight management, you can implement essential oils in your water/tea/beverage of choice, you can cook with the oils, try them in supplement form, topically, or diffusing.  These oils can help energize you, decrease your appetite, detox the body, and provide antioxidant support. Try the following oils and blends to improve your overall health:

    • DiGize
    • Lime
    • Basil
    • Thyme
    • Nutmeg
    • Aroma Life
    • Dragon Time
    • Lady Sclareol
    • PanAway
    • Deep-Relief (Roll-on)
    • En-R-Gee
    • GLF

Purify your home

Your home contains many toxins and by using harsh chemical cleansers, you are only adding to te toxicity of your home. In addition to buying more plants to purify the air (NASA recommends this), convert to using essential oils. Surprisingly, essential oils are gentle but powerful enough to clean dirty counters, polish wood, remove adhesive sticky-ness, and more. In addition to oils, YL has created their own  Thieves® line of products you can check out.
    • Lemon
    • Orange
    • Pine
    • Purification
    • Thieves Oil and Thieves Cleansing Products
    • Thyme
    • Lemongrass
    • Cinnamon

By making the change to natural products to clean your home, why not make the switch for beauty products? I have loved using essential oils to enhance my beauty regime and there is something to be said if essential oils have been used since ancient Egyptian times. The oils below can promote clear skin, soften the signs of aging, add nourishment and suppleness to the skin and give your skin that natural glow. You can use these oils topically (some require dilution) or you can add them to your current natural, green beauty products.
    • Lavender
    • Frankinsense
    • Copaiba
    • Jasmine
    • Sandalwood
